Some members will already have met the BID’s new Business Liaison, Stephanie Mansell-Jones, who has joined the team to help continue the success of the past five years.

The new Business Liaison role has been created to build closer links between the business community and the BID, helping to create the best environment for Shrewsbury town centre businesses to flourish.

Stephanie started off as a recruiter in London, working her way up to senior advisor before moving in-house with Exterion Media as their internal recruiter.

She then moved to Canada for two years, working for a membership organisation, Doctors of BC – the number 10 best place to work in Canada for mid-size organisations.

In her role as business liaison, she will be developing strong working relationships with members and partners of the BID, developing the recently launched Shrewsbury Ambassadors project – focused on enhancing the Shrewsbury visitor experience, be the BID’s main representative within Team Shrewsbury and coordinate the town’s Purple Flag activities.

She said: “I am really enjoying my new role and having a part in making Shrewsbury town centre the very best it can be.

“I really enjoyed growing up in Shrewsbury before heading to Liverpool for University to study Classical Studies.

“Since then, I have lived in London and Vancouver, moving back last year to make my home in Shrewsbury again and be closer to family.

“It’s great to see how much Shrewsbury has developed in the 10 years, there’s much more of a vibrancy about the place now – I’m trying to get all my friends to move here!”
