Shrewsbury BID, on behalf of the Big Town Plan Partnership, is seeking a conference organiser to deliver an engaging, thought-provoking conference as part of the wider Shrewsbury Moves festival. The topic is movement and the future of town centres. The event will inspire and educate attendees by showcasing innovative ideas, successful case studies, and actionable strategies, in the context of Shrewsbury’s newly adopted 10-year movement and public space plan.

Background

Shrewsbury is on an exciting journey, transforming movement and space across our town. Our town is already very special, but we know there are challenges that exist which make accessing and travelling around our medieval streets difficult. 

Shrewsbury Moves introduces bold ideas to make our town centre much more appealing for walking, wheeling and cycling, offering more vibrant outdoor spaces for people to relish and businesses to thrive, while also revolutionising our public transport and improving access to the town by car.

Scope of Work

The organiser will assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of a short conference involving a keynote address and a series of smaller talks over a 24-hour period, working closely with the Shrewsbury Moves team and local stakeholders to bring the vision to life. 

Budget

The indicative budget for this conference is £5,000, including speaker fees and/or expenses. However, the budget will be worked on in more detail with the appointed organiser.
