Murals and windows

We work with local artists to bring artwork to Shrewsbury’s streets, animating vacant windows and painting murals.

We commissioned local artists to paint 14 Openreach boxes across Shrewsbury town centre in colourful art-works featuring animals to link with Charles Darwin. A trail map of the mini-murals was printed and provided to local businesses.

In 2020, we worked with local artist Matt Sewell to create a mural in St Austin’s Car Park on an old electrical substation. Matt brought the wall to life with his signature birds in bright, eye-catching colours.

We also work with landlords to fill vacant windows whilst they wait for new tenants.

The visitor experience is increasingly important to the success of town centres. Shrewsbury BID works with partners to improve the accessibility and attractiveness of the town whilst continuing to deliver its award-winning safety projects.

REPRESENTING & INFLUENCING

Towns operate more efficiently and profitably if businesses and public authorities are working effectively together. Shrewsbury BID provides a strong and representative business voice on issues affecting the town centre.
