Shrewsbury BID is a not-for-profit partnership working with over 500 businesses in Shrewsbury town centre.

In April 2024 we began our third five-year term, investing over £2.5m into promoting Shrewsbury and delivering projects to enhance the town centre.

Our BID Board and team work to provide leadership and champion business within the town centre and ensure a strong voice on important issues affecting business.

We work with partners to enhance the trading environment and experience as well as attracting new visitors to discover all we have to offer. We generate tangible value and cost savings for businesses and supporting those working and trading within the town centre.

The budgets and action plans for each project area are overseen by Working Groups which include BID Directors and co-opted members of the local business community.

Shrewsbury BID is solely accountable to its members and is governed by a voluntary board of Directors from a representative range of sectors in the BID area.

The Board meet quarterly to help ensure the priorities of businesses are being met and to monitor performance and delivery.  See Key Documents for our Annual Reports and Accounts.

BID Members receive regular email updates on our work and progress against our business plan priorities.  We engage our Members on a wide range of town centre issues and invite them to get involved as much as possible. Our Annual Meeting is held each year for the Board and Team to update members on progress against the Business Plan and invite feedback.  Feedback is welcomed at any time by getting in contact with the Team.

Shrewsbury BID is a not for profit company limited by guarantee and works closely with industry partners including The BID Foundation, Institute of Place Management and ATCM.

Following the BID2 Ballot in October 2018, Businesses within the BID Area shown above with a rateable value of over £12,000 automatically become levy-paying members and receive Shrewsbury BID projects and services.

Businesses within the BID Area with a rateable value of under £12,000 or businesses outside the BID area are warmly invited to join Shrewsbury BID as Voluntary Members.

Shrewsbury BID has four members of staff based at the BID Office at Windsor House and are responsible for delivering the BID’s projects.
