2023 BID3 RENEWAL

The UK legislation requires Business Improvement Districts to seek a business mandate through a ballot every five years. From 8th June until 6th July 2023, Shropshire Council held a renewal ballot for a third Shrewsbury BID term which will run from 1st April 2024 – 31st March 2029.

All businesses within the Shrewsbury BID3 area with a rateable value of over £12,000 on the 2023 rating list were eligible to vote in the ballot.

BID3 BUSINESS PLAN

Following extensive consultation with local businesses, the Shrewsbury BID 2024-2029 Business Plan sets out our priorities to promote and support the Shrewsbury town centre economy, and to ensure that the business community has a strong voice on important issues affecting the town.

The business plan was posted to all businesses eligible to vote by Shrewsbury BID on 23rd May 2023.

Ballot papers were posted to all businesses eligible to vote ahead of 8th June 2023 by Civica Election Services Ltd acting on behalf of the Ballot Holder, Shropshire Council’s Returning Officer.

In line with UK BID legislation, businesses within the BID area with a property rateable value below 12,000 and therefore would not be mandated to pay a BID levy, do not receive a vote.

All businesses within the BID area who do not pay a BID levy or businesses within a 15-minute walk of The Square are warmly invited to become a voluntary member of Shrewsbury BID and be part of our projects.
