Retail Stock Loss Prevention and Management Training

Shropshire Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with West Mercia Police, is running a ‘Retail loss prevention and management’ half-day training session on Friday 8th March 2024, 2pm to 5pm through their UKSPF Team Upskilling Programme.
The training will cover many practical areas, including the following:
- Understanding police processes for a shoplifting investigation.
- Preventative measures.
- How to make complaint statements.
- Learn about alternative ‘out of court disposals’ to investigations.
- What is a ‘Civil Order’.
- How to report retail crime to the police – best practice.
- CCTV – the use of IT and facial recognition.
- New ways of working collaboratively with the Police to deal with and combat retail theft.
Is your business eligible?
- Your business must be a retail small to medium enterprise (SME).
- Your business must be based in, and trade in, the Shropshire Council Local Authority area.
- No Charities (including charity shops) are eligible; however, some social enterprises are if they engage in economic activity.
- Ineligible sectors are: Primary food production including commercial fisheries and related Agri-environmental schemes (these are subject to other funding mechanisms), arms and ammunitions, gambling, mineral and ore extraction (this list is not exhaustive).
- Social enterprises, that engage in economic activity, are eligible.
- Your businesses business rates liability must fall within the Shropshire Council Authority, (Telford and Wrekin or Powys, for example, are not eligible).
- Any business that is already part, or fully, funded by the government/Local Authority is not eligible as it is classed as ‘double funding’. An example of this would be an NHS funded care home, or school.
