Shrewsbury BID has negotiated new, exclusive waste collection rates for BID members with Veolia, the UK’s leading waste management company.
The refreshed agreement offers cost-effective and sustainable waste solutions Shrewsbury BID members within the Shrewsbury BID area.
The new pricing will come into effect from 1st January 2026, but businesses can opt in early to set up for the new year. Existing Veolia customers who are BID members will not be automatically moved to the new rates, but have the option to opt in – the offer is open to all BID members who wish to take advantage of these preferential prices.
Under the renewed partnership, Shrewsbury BID members will benefit from a range of services in addition to BID member rates, including six day per week collection options, dedicated local account management from the Veolia team and support through Shrewsbury BID if needed, support with Simpler Recycling legislation, free on-site training and signage if needed, including e-learning modules and WRAP-approved materials to help reduce contamination and recycling costs. There will be no container rental or ‘Duty of Care’ admin fees, with prices fixed from January to December 2026.

Stephanie Mansell-Jones, Project Lead for Shrewsbury BID, said, “We’re really pleased to renew our partnership with Veolia and secure an improved offer for BID members. By working together, we’re helping businesses stay compliant with new recycling legislation, reduce costs, and contribute to a cleaner, more pleasant town centre. This is a great example of how collective action through the BID delivers real value for members.”
Tracy Wynn, Business Manager at Veolia UK, said, “Veolia is proud to be working alongside Shrewsbury BID and the local business community. Our shared focus is on providing reliable and sustainable waste management solutions that make it easier and more cost-effective for town centre businesses to operate responsibly. We look forward to supporting members through the transition to Simpler Recycling and beyond.”
To access these exclusive BID member rates, businesses should contact Veolia directly and request Shrewsbury BID Member Pricing.
If you’re happy with your current arrangement, no action is required – but BID members are encouraged to explore the new options and consider whether they represent a cost saving ahead of the January rollout.
Darren Tomkins, Owner of Gindifferent and member of the board of Shrewsbury BID, commented, “It’s great to see the BID team working hard behind the scenes to secure deals like this that genuinely save our members money. This agreement is a perfect example of the power of collective bargaining – by coming together, local businesses can access better rates and real financial benefits that wouldn’t be possible alone. I hope as many businesses as possible take advantage of this opportunity.”
